Restaurants I personally recommend

Richlandtown Inn: 0.8 miles from PeonyLand. Type: Sit Down in a nice atmosphere, take out.

The Richlandtown Inn is a wonderful restaurant in Richlandtown.  The owner/chef, Vananzio, is classically trained.  They can accomodate large parties for lunch or dinner.  If you come on Sunday morning, they offer a wonderful breakfast brunch with made to order Eggs Benedict, waffles, and omelettes.  Smoked salmon, grits, french toast, pancakes, fresh fruit, sausage and bacon, etc. are also on the buffet.  Enjoy a Bloody Mary or Mimosa with your breakfast after 11am.  If you have a large group or would like to dine in an 18th century restored Inn, this is my recommendation.  I go almost every Sunday for the breakfast.  Some of my favorite entrees are the Bison Prime Rib and Duck Breast in a Chambord sauce.  A wonderful Caesar Salad makes an excellent lunch.

Alcamo Pizza: 1 mile from PeonyLand. Type: Sit Down in a casual atmosphere, take out.

Alcamo is a family owned restaurant specializing in Italian fare.  Vinnie (the owner and chef) offer large portions of pasta, gourmet pizzas, sandwiches and salads that could feed a small family, as well as wonderful home-made soups.  Outdoor seating is available in the Spring/Summer as well.  I've been to countless pizza shops in my life, this is by far the best.  My favorite lunch includes the Chicken and Spinach Panini with Smoked Mozzarella, as well as the Prosciutto hoagie with roasted peppers and spinach and fresh mozzarella.

Sunday's Deli: 3.2 miles from PeonyLand. Type: Sit down in a very casual atmosphere, can be somewhat busy.

Chef/Owner Sunday has been a fixture in Quakertown for years.  His home-made soups, desserts, breads, and Greek specialties are featured daily.  Gyros and burgers are the best in the area.  Personally, I crave the chicken salad sandwich.  It's the best I've ever had (I make a great Chicken Salad and Sunday's is better than mine).  If you stop by when they have the Italian Wedding soup, do NOT pass it up.  His hoagies and sandwiches are enormous.   The salads are also very good and fresh.

Karlton Cafe: 4 miles from PeonyLand.  Type: Coffee House sit down, somewhat expensive.

Chef Owner Dave Wilsey was the first to open a gourmet coffee house in Quakertown.  Fresh coffees, expressos, and teas are paired with a small selection of fresh gourmet sandwiches.  The salad bar is a create your own.  Desserts are prominently featured and made fresh every day.  Lobster Salad sandwich is a favorite here.
